Ringing in the New Year, Hooktown Style

Last night we rang in the new year with our friends from "the hood". This has been our tradition for the past 16 years. Nothing like prime rib cooked on the Weber rotisserie, grilled salmon, stinky feet potatoes (a Martha Stewart recipe we renamed due to the pungent smell of the Gruyere cheese, tastes amazing), mandarin orange, almond, lettuce salad and fluffy walnut pie for dessert.

We played an intense, frustrating game of "Hedbandz". Lots of laughs.

Afterwards, we moved outside for a first ever, lighting of the lanterns.

Due to the lack of light, the photos are not crystal clear.

That's my boy, Sasquatch with the purple lantern.

The lanterns took a while to heat up due to the cold air.

What a beautiful way to send off 2013 before welcoming 2014.

Cheers and Happy New Year!
