Parade Day

I was so excited for the parade this 4th of July.

Here's the Chick and Sasquatch dressed up in their festive attire.  Anticipating bags full of candy, funnel cakes and fresh squeezed lemonade. The wind was blowing like rain was on the way.



Smart phone weather apps were being checked by young and old. There was a lot of buzz about the big storm about hit us. "Should I stay or should I go" from the Clash is running through my head. What we can't see, due to the 3 story buildings behind us, are the skies over the hill to the north, quickly turning dark gray.

The rains came down. Hard. We waited on our friend's porch, then decided the parade would most likely be cancelled, so we came home. We are all dry, safe and sound waiting for tonight's fireworks display. Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
