My year long wait is finally over. I participated in an altered book round robin with 5 other ladies. We each had to come up with a theme for our book, then alter the cover and inside spread. Each month the books were passed on to the next person. We weren't allowed to see our books until it was finished.
This is my cover. An old map serves as the background. I created packing tape image transfers for the animals and "circus". Tickets decorate the spine. The front cover image is from a vintage Bozo children's book.
For the inside spread/sign-in I used the same vintage Bozo book for the audience, handlettered the "Starring" and stars were created using my Cricut.
This is the page spread created by Robin.
Bev created this page spread. Loads of bright colors.
"Will work for peanuts" by Susan.
Deb created a beautiful vintage circus spread.
Close up of the elephant embellished with bells.
The final spread by Michelle. She cut a niche and made it into a circus train car.
You may be thinking, "its a baby in a cage!" but once you've read the quote on the opposite page, it all makes sense.
"Creativity represents a miraculous coming together of the uninhibited energy of the child with its apparent opposite and enemy, the sense of order imposed on the disciplined adult intelligience." -Norman Podhoretz
The show is over, folks. Please gather your belongings and exit the tent. Comeback anytime and visit the Curious Flea Circus.
